Six Aggies named as members of the 2024 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society | Sports



LOGAN, Utah – Six Utah State football players were announced as members of the 2024 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society, it was announced Wednesday.

The 2024 class is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. A total of 1,989 players from 339 schools qualified for membership in the society’s 18th year.

Michael Anyanwu (Covina, California/Charter Oak HS), Stephen Kotsanlee (Melbourne, Australia/Box Hill HS), Broc Lane (Chandler, Arizona/Perry HS), Cooper Legas (Orem, Utah/Orem HS), Terrell Vaughn (Oxnard, California/Westlake HS/Ventura JC) and Levi Williams (Canyon Lake, Texas/Smithson Valley HS/Wyoming) were all recognized for their academic and athletic efforts.

The six Aggies were among 64 student-athletes from the Mountain West to make the list.

During his six-year career at Utah State, Anyanwu maintained a 3.67 grade point average as he earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and a master’s degree in sports management. He was named academic all-Mountain West three times (2020, 2021, 2023) and was named a MW Scholar-Athlete in 2022.

Kotsanlee is earning a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and has posted a GPA of 3.25 during his time at Utah State. He is a four-time academic all-Mountain West honoree (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023). He was also named honorable mention All-MW as a freshman in 2020.

Lane (3.58 GPA) is majoring in kinesiology. He is a three-time academic all-Mountain West honoree (2020, 2022, 2023) and a two-time MW Scholar-Athlete (2020, 2022). He was also named honorable mention all-MW this past fall.

Legas earned a bachelor’s degree in economics in spring of 2023 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration, maintaining a 3.47 grade point average. He has been named academic all-Mountain West three times (2020, 2022, 2023) and was a MW Scholar-Athlete in 2020.

Vaughn is graduating in the spring with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and has posted a GPA of 3.26 during his time at Utah State. He is a two-time academic all-Mountain West honoree (2022, 2023). He was also named second-team all-MW in 2023 and honorable mention All-MW in 2022.

Williams (3.58 GPA) earned a bachelor’s degree from Utah State in integrated studies in fall of 2022 and a master’s degree in business administration in fall of 2023. He is a two-time academic all-Mountain West honoree (2022, 2023).

The NFF Hampshire Honor Society capitalizes on the NFF’s National Scholar-Athlete program by greatly expanding the number of scholar-athletes the NFF can recognize each year.

The initiative has now honored 16,398 student-athletes since its inception.

To qualify for the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, student-athletes must graduate this spring/summer and have completed his final year of playing eligibility in 2023 or be a graduated player who has been out of high school at least three years.

Qualifying student-athletes also must have maintained a 3.2 cumulative GPA throughout their entire course or undergraduate study and have been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2023 season.
