Claire Fischer, Macade Rolle earn CVMG Prep Player of the Week honors for Jan. 22-27 – Cache Valley Daily

LEFT – Sky View boys basketball guard Macade Rolle | RIGHT – Sky View girls basketball forward Claire Fischer LOGAN — Sky View has swept this week’s Boys and Girls Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, Presented by McDonalds. Boys basketball guard Macade Rolle and girls basketball forward Clair Fischer earned the distinctions for this past week. Rolle, an emerging sophomore guard for the Bobcats, set a career-high in points with 23 against Green Canyon and then followed it up with 20 against Mountain Crest for a second straight 20-point game. His 20 points, to go with five assists (which tied his previous career high) helped the Bobcats get their first win since the start of region play. For the week, Rolle averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 assists and shot 5 of 11 on 3-pointers overall. Fischer played two dominant games for the Bobcats in a 2-0 week that solidified her team as the clear second-place team in the region and No. 4 team in the 4A RPI. She started the week by nearly recording a 20/20 game by scoring 24 points and grabbing 19 rebounds against Green Canyon and then dominated the paint defensively against Mountain Crest

LEFT – Mountain Crest girls basketball forward Kali Jones (32) | RIGHT – Mountain Crest boys basketball guard Josh Arnell (3) LOGAN — Two Mountain Crest basketball players have been named the Boys and Girls Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, Presented by McDonalds. Girls basketball forward Kali Jones and boys basketball guard Josh Arnell both starred for their teams this past week to earn the distinction. Jones led the way for the Mustangs in a 2-0 week that featured road wins at Green Canyon and Bear River. She scored in double figures on both occasions with 21 points against the Wolves and 14 against the Bears, dominating the paint with both her scoring and rebounding that’s given her seven double-doubles on the year. Arnell also helped his team to a 2-0 week and that featured wins over the same two schools, Bear River and Green Canyon. Those two opponents currently rank No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, in the 4A RPI. Against the Bears, Arnell set new career highs in points (28) and 3-pointers (six) and also poured in 16 points against Green Canyon. LEFT – Logan boys basketball forward Jordan Child | RIGHT – Ridgeline girls basketball guard Emilee Skinner LOGAN – After the first week of Region 11 games, Logan boys basketball forward Jordan Child and Ridgeline girls basketball guard Emilee Skinner have been named the Boys and Girls Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, Presented by McDonalds. Child scored a career-high 33 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and four blocks in the Grizzlies triple-overtime victory over Mountain Crest. Additionally, Child hit the game-winning shot of the 85-84 win with 0.7 seconds left in the third overtime period. This is the second time this season Child has earned Boys Player of the Week. Skinner led the way for the Riverhawks in a win over Green Canyon, scoring 25 points to go with two rebounds, two assists and three steals against the No. 4 team in the 4A Girls Basketball RPI. Skinner has won Girls Player of the Week three times this season and six times overall in the last two years. Elise Livingston, Kaden Hess earn CVMG Prep Player of the Week honors for Jan. 1-6 – Cache Valley Daily

Left – Mountain Crest boys basketball forward Kaden Hess | Right – Ridgeline girls basketball guard Elise Livingston LOGAN – Ridgeline girls basketball guard Elise Livingston and Mountain Crest forward Kaden Hess have been named Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, Presented by McDonalds, for the week of Jan. 1-6. Livingston led the way for the Riverhawks in a pair of impressive wins this last week, posting back-to-back 20-point outings in games against Fremont and Corner Canyon. She averaged 22.5 points for the week along with 1.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Between the two games, the senior guard also hit nine 3-pointers. Hess paced the Mustangs in their lone game of the week, scoring a career-best 28 points in MC’s victory over Hunter. It’s Hess’ second straight 20-point game and fourth of the season as he’s helped Mountain Crest to a 9-3 record in non-region play.
