Jordan Child, Emilee Skinner earn CVMG Prep Player of the Week honors for Jan. 8-13 – Cache Valley Daily

LEFT – Logan boys basketball forward Jordan Child | RIGHT – Ridgeline girls basketball guard Emilee Skinner LOGAN – After the first week of Region 11 games, Logan boys basketball forward Jordan Child and Ridgeline girls basketball guard Emilee Skinner have been named the Boys and Girls Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, Presented by McDonalds. Child scored a career-high 33 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and four blocks in the Grizzlies triple-overtime victory over Mountain Crest. Additionally, Child hit the game-winning shot of the 85-84 win with 0.7 seconds left in the third overtime period. This is the second time this season Child has earned Boys Player of the Week. Skinner led the way for the Riverhawks in a win over Green Canyon, scoring 25 points to go with two rebounds, two assists and three steals against the No. 4 team in the 4A Girls Basketball RPI. Skinner has won Girls Player of the Week three times this season and six times overall in the last two years. Elise Livingston, Kaden Hess earn CVMG Prep Player of the Week honors for Jan. 1-6 – Cache Valley Daily

Left – Mountain Crest boys basketball forward Kaden Hess | Right – Ridgeline girls basketball guard Elise Livingston LOGAN – Ridgeline girls basketball guard Elise Livingston and Mountain Crest forward Kaden Hess have been named Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, Presented by McDonalds, for the week of Jan. 1-6. Livingston led the way for the Riverhawks in a pair of impressive wins this last week, posting back-to-back 20-point outings in games against Fremont and Corner Canyon. She averaged 22.5 points for the week along with 1.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Between the two games, the senior guard also hit nine 3-pointers. Hess paced the Mustangs in their lone game of the week, scoring a career-best 28 points in MC’s victory over Hunter. It’s Hess’ second straight 20-point game and fourth of the season as he’s helped Mountain Crest to a 9-3 record in non-region play. Emilee Skinner, Jagger Francom earn CVMG Prep Player of the Week honors for Dec. 11-16 – Cache Valley Daily

Ridgeline basketball swept this week’s selections for Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, presented by McDonalds. Riverhawks girls basketball guard Emilee Skinner won girls player of the week with boys basketball center Jagger Francom earned boys player of the week. This is Skinner’s second player of the week honor of the year and was earned through averaging 26.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals across Ridgeline’s two games this week. In the Riverhawks’ win over Bountiful, Skinner scored a season-high 31 points. Francom is earning the award for the first time this year, evidence of his breakout season. In three games he averaged 22.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He scored a career-high 31 points against Cottonwood and recorded his second double-double of the year with 21 points, 10 rebounds against Crimson Cliffs. Other nominations for this week’s awards included Liam Guthrie (Sky View boys), Kyver Jensen (Bear River boys), Layker Ward (Green Canyon boys) Jalen Argyle (Logan boys), Kaden Hess (Mountain Crest boys), Makena Smart (Sky View girls), Aubree Fry (Bear River girls), Marissa Best (Green Canyon girls), Julia Held (Logan girls) and Kali Jones (Mountain Crest girls). Jared Anderson, Janalynn Blotter earn CVMG Prep Player of the Week honors for Dec. 4-9 – Cache Valley Daily

A pair of Green Canyon basketball players have been named this week’s Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, presented by McDonalds. Janalynn Blotter, a guard for the 5-2 girls team, was named girls player of the week with Jared Anderson, a guard on the undefeated boys team, is the boys player of the week. Blotter scored a career-high 25 points in the Wolves’ win over Morgan on Dec. 5. It was her third 20-point game of the year and she added five rebounds and a season-high four steals. Blotter also led GC in scoring in the team’s win over Skyline on Dec. 8, completing a 2-0 week for the Wolves. For Anderson it’s the second time he has earned the award, having received it on Jan. 10, during the 2022-23 season. This past week he scored at least 20 points twice including a career-high 35 points to which he added six rebounds and a season-high four assists.
