Utah State’s Brianna Brooks ties for first on bars at California Regional | Sports

BERKELEY, California – Utah State’s Brianna Brooks had a career outing at the NCAA Regional Championships on Friday as she tied her season high on bars with a 9.900 to

tie for first on the event. That score is tied for the third-best on bars at an NCAA Regional meet in school history.

Brooks represented Utah State at the California Regional on Friday in Session I of the second round and was one of five gymnasts to score a 9.900 on bars along with Rylie Mundell (Denver), Emma Malabuyo (UCLA), Cienna Samiley (Arizona State) and Jada Mangahas (Arizona State). Overall, Brooks was one of 27 competitors on the event.

“Once again, Brianna proved that she is one of the best in the business,” said USU head coach Kristin White. “We are so proud of her and honored to have her represent Utah State.”

Brooks will now wait for the conclusion of tonight’s session and Sunday’s competition to see if she qualifies for the National Championships, which will be held in Fort Worth, Texas, from April 18-20.
