Inaugural RPI for Boys Volleyball out, Ridgeline at No. 3 as best-ranked Region 11 team | Sports

The inaugural RPI for Boys Volleyball was released this morning by the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA), not only the first for this season but the first-ever for the sport in the state of Utah. Region 11 teams have done fairly well this season, with four teams currently with winning records, though the RPI has not reflected that initial success. Ridgeline did receive a favorable ranking, coming in at third as the highest ranked team from Region 11. Green Canyon and Sky View are ninth and 10th, respectively. Logan, despite being the first-place team in the region standings, is only 14th due to an overall lower strength of schedule. Mountain Crest is 22nd with Bear River at 26th. Mason Falslev leaves transfer portal, will stay at Utah State | Sports

LOGAN — In a big win for new head coach Jerrod Calhoun, hometown guard Mason Falslev has chosen to stay at Utah State and will remove his name from the transfer portal. The guard posted a picture of himself in an Aggie uniform on his Instagram account with the phrase “Once an Aggie always an Aggie🤝#committed.” Falslev entered the portal on March 27, the first of what was, as of early Friday morning, six Aggies to put their name out for a potential move away from Logan. RELATED: 2024 Utah State Men’s/Women’s Basketball Transfer Tracker This past season, Falslev played a crucial role on Utah State’s conference championship-winning squad as just a redshirt freshman. He started all 34 games he appeared in and averaging 11.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals. Falslev joined a short list of Utah State freshman to score at least 300 points in a single season. His 384 points ranks fifth all-time among freshman behind Koby McEwen (462), Neemias Queta (414), David Collette (397) and Jaycee Carroll (384) and just ahead of Tai Wesley (348) among USU freshman to eclipse that 300-point mark. In addition to being one of the higher scoring freshman, Falslev’s debut
