LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head soccer coach Manny Martins announced USU’s 2024 recruiting class Thursday morning, as the Aggies are set to welcome in seven new student-athletes next season.
This signing class features seven players from four different states. Signees include forward Mia Mullenmeister (Mitchell, South Dakota), midfielder Rachel Reitz (Lynnwood, Washington), midfielder Kaeda Wilson (Sandy, Utah), midfielder Austin Miller (Providence, Utah), midfielder Ellie Hendrix (St. George, Utah), midfielder Faith Hines (Kapolei, Hawaii), and midfielder Ally Yoshimura (Honolulu, Hawaii).
“I am very pleased with the work put forth by our staff to assemble the 2024 class,” Martins said. “In this class, we welcome seven talented, high-character competitors who will immediately add to our already very competitive environment. I cannot wait to have them join us on campus.”
Joining the Aggies from South Dakota is forward Mia Mullenmeister out of Mitchell High School. The six-time letterwinner scored 43 goals and added five assists for 91 points during her senior campaign. Mullenmeister was named to the all-state and all-district first teams, and holds the school record for most goals in both a season and career. In club competition, Mullenmeister was named to the Best XI in the 2019 President’s Cup, leading Dakota Alliance to a championship win. Mullenmeister also spent two years in the Olympic Development Program, making it to the Midwest Regional Camp.
Out of Washington, USU welcomes midfielder Rachel Reitz from Meadowdale High School. The native of Lynnwood, Washington, was a four-time letterwinner, scoring 14 goals and recording 14 assists in her senior season. At the club level, Reitz helped Pacific Northwest Soccer Club win the ECNL Playoffs Showcase B Championship. Reitz also played four years in the Olympic Development Program, making it to the West Regional Camp in 2021 and helping her side become 2022 IBERCup finalists.
From the Beehive State, the Aggies bring in midfielder Kaeda Wilson out of Copper Hills High School. The three-time letterwinner from Sandy, Utah, totaled 20 points behind eight goals and four assists in her senior season. Over the course of her high school career, Wilson scored 32 goals and added 18 assists, while being named all-state honorable mention as both a forward and midfielder, and all-region as a center midfielder. In club competition, Wilson tallied more than 20 goals and 20 assists for 7 Elite Academy as a midfielder and center back over four seasons. Her squad won regionals in 2019, 2021 and 2022, becoming State Cup finalists in all three years. She was coached by her mother, Shaylee, who played soccer at Utah State from 2002-03.
Utah State also adds home-grown forward and midfielder Austin Miller from Green Canyon High School in North Logan. While leading the Wolves to their first-ever state championship in 2023, Miller scored 15 goals and dished out six assists for 36 points in her senior year. The four-time letterwinner won the Golden Boot in 2022 and was named first team all-state and all-region in 2021 and 2022 behind eight goals and 12 assists and 16 goals and six assists, respectively. In 2020, Miller was named second team all-state behind two assists. In club play, Miller helped Utah Avalanche win the 2021 Presidents Cup National Championship, 2017 Utah State Cup, the 2021 and 2022 Vegas Player Showcases and the 2022 Showcase Cup A 416.
Also joining USU from the state of Utah is midfielder Ellie Hendrix out of Desert Hills High School in St. George. During her senior season, Hendrix scored 19 goals and dealt out 21 assists to earn co-region MVP honors, while leading the Thunder to a 2023 region championship. Over her high school career, Hendrix scored 49 goals and recorded 53 assists, while being named first team all-state in 2021 and 2022, first team all-region from 2021 to 2023 and second team all-region in 2020. At the club level, Hendrix played for La Roca, helping the team become West Region finalists in 2023. In the Olympic Development Program, Hendrix was selected to the West Region ODP Team in 2022 and was invited to the National ODP Pool in 2022.
From the Aloha State, the Aggies welcome midfielder Faith Hines out of Kapolei High School. The three-time letterwinner led the state in goal scoring in 2022 and 2023 and was named to the all-state second team in 2022-23, OIA first team in 2022-23 and OIA West First Team West in 2021-22. In club competition, Hines played for Hawaii Rush and led the league in scoring in 2022.
Also hailing from Hawaii is midfielder Ally Yoshimura out of Punahou School. The two-time letterwinner, who has yet to play her senior season, scored two goals in 2022-23 and three in 2021-22. Yoshimura was named to the ILH Second Team in 2021-22 and 2022-23 as well as all-state honorable mention in both seasons. Yoshimura helped Punahou School to a state championship in 2022-23. Yoshimura also played for Hawaii Rush in club competition. Yoshimura has been honored with Rush Select Invites every year since 2019, and was invited to the ID2 National Camp in 2019. Her club team won the Women’s League in 2022 and 2023 as well as the Super Black Surf Cup in 2016 and 2022.
