Green Canyon and Mountain Crest advance in 4A boys soccer playoffs – Cache Valley Daily

MILLVILLE – The Green Canyon Wolves won a Region 11 rematch in the 4A boys soccer playoffs Saturday in Millville. The #5 Wolves and #4 Ridgeline Riverhawks split their regular season series, but in the quarterfinals of the boys soccer playoffs Green Canyon scored early and then held on to shut out Ridgeline 1-0. They will face #8 Dixie who upset the top overall seed Layton Christian Academy 2-1. Their game will begin at 10 a.m.

Green Canyon isn’t the only Region 11 team that pulled off an upset and will be playing in the semifinals at Zions Bank Stadium on Thursday. #6 Mountain Crest defeated #3 Desert Hills 3-1 in Southern Utah Saturday afternoon. Mountain Crest will face #2 Crimson Cliffs who defeated #7 Sky View 4-2. Their game will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Both the Green Canyon vs Dixie and Mountain Crest vs Crimson Cliffs games will be broadcast on 107.7 KLZX with an audio stream available here on Cache Valley Daily.

The 4A boys soccer championship game will take place on Friday at America First Field, the home of Real Salt Lake, on Friday, May 12 at 7 p.m. If a Region 11 team advances to the championship the game will be broadcast on 107.7 KLZX with an audio stream available here on Cache Valley Daily.
