Softball RPI revealed with four Region 11 teams in top 10 | Sports

Softball became the fourth of six spring sports to have its RPI revealed this by UHSAA. The initial rankings were revealed this morning and featured several teams from Region 11 toward the top of the rankings. Ridgeline, which remains undefeated at 11-0, were ranked second overall, just behind No. 1 Desert Hills. Bear River come in at sixth with Logan and eighth and Sky View ninth to round out four total Region 11 teams in the top 10. Mountain Crest and Green Canyon are ranked 22nd and 23rd, respectively. Two more RPI rankings are scheduled to be revealed this week, one each weekday through Friday. First 4A baseball RPI revealed, Bear River in top five – Cache Valley Daily

The UHSAA released the first of several RPI rankings to be revealed this week. This morning the baseball rankings were posted and Region 11 teams were not very well represented at the top as Bear River is the only team from the region to be inside the top 10 of the RPI. The Bears came in ranked fourth of the 24 teams in the 4A classification with Ridgeline at 13th, Green Canyon at 20th, Sky View at 23rd and Logan in the 24th spot. Box Elder, in the 5A RPI, came in at 13th of 31 teams. Five more RPI rankings are scheduled to be revealed this week, one each weekday through Friday. Region 11 Boys Basketball coaches release All-Region teams, awards – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN — The coaches votes for boys basketball All-Region 11 teams and awards were released Tuesday afternoon with numerous standout players from the region receiving recognition. Logan forward Jordan Child — who led the region in points (20.9), rebounds (7.8), steals (2.5) and blocks (1.7) and was also third in assists (3.8) — was named Player of the Year. The Grizzlies’ coach, Mitchell Argyle, earned Coach of the Year honors. Argyle, in his third season as coach at Logan, led the team to a second-place finish and its highest RPI rank in program history, ending the year ranked third in RPI among all 4A schools. The region’s Defensive Player of the Year award is being shared by Ridgeline’s senior guard Cam Blotter and Green Canyon’s senior forward Jaxson Drysdale. The Riverhawks and Wolves were the two best defensive teams statistically with these to players being key factors in that defensive success. Sky View’s Macade Rolle earned Newcomer of the Year, the sophomore being the only non-senior anywhere among players in the All-Region awards, Rolle also earned Honorable Mention All-Region. Rolle averaged 8.3 points per game and was named Cache Valley Media Group Boys Prep Player of the Week once during
