Final Preseason Record Prediction for Utah State football | Sports

Utah State’s college football season begins this week with its home opener against Idaho State on Merlin Olsen Field. With months of anticipation, analysis, and waiting soon to be in the rearview mirror, there’s only a little time left to cement our (certain to be wrong) preseason predictions for Utah State football. These predictions come from Full Court Press co-hosts Eric Frandsen and Jason Walker. We’ll give a win/loss prediction for each of the 12 regular-season games, including a prediction on who the Aggies will play in the flex game and whether they’ll win against the chosen opponent. In addition to predicting a win or loss, we’ll also offer a scaling descriptor on how close that win or loss will be. Three tiers of win or loss: a blowout, decisive, or close. This isn’t meant to be an exact score prediction, mainly a way to offer more insight as to how we feel about each of these games. So, here we go. Game 1 – vs Idaho State Date: Sept. 5 (Sat) Location: Merlin Olsen Field (Logan, UT) Kickoff Time: 5 p.m. Jason’s Prediction: Decisive Win by Utah State There are hints of this game potentially being a close one.

The biggest questions to be answered for Utah State in Week 1 | Sports

College football arrives in Cache Valley this Saturday as Utah State hosts Idaho State on Merlin Olsen Field in the soon-to-be-renamed Jim Laub Family Stadium. It ends a _-day span since the last time the Aggies officially played a gridiron football contest. All throughout the seven-plus months without Aggie football, questions have slowly built up as to what the 2026 version of the team would look like. Bronco Mendenhall enters his second season as head coach, hoping to make Utah State the third program he’s taken from the doldrums of mediocrity to the upper echelons of college football. Since nothing has happened on the field yet, exactly zero questions posed by fans, media, or any other interested parties have officially been answered. That changes in three days. Although there are plenty of crucial questions which will remain unanswered even after the conclusion of Saturday evening’s entertainment, we’ll at least get something. Here are the most pressing questions that will get significant, even if incomplete, answers this weekend. Is the offense what the USU coaches and players say? Utah State’s offense is a vast ocean of unknowns and speculations. The unit is returning only a handful of rotation players from last
