For a second straight award period (following a brief break for Thanksgiving) Green Canyon forward Jude Haigh and Ridgeline guard Emilee Skinner are being named the Cache Valley Media Group Boys and Girls Prep Players of the Week.
The Prep Player of the Week awards are presented by BlueSky Restoration and Center Street Grill.
Haigh put on another scoring showcase with 36 points against Hurricane, helping the Wolves keep their undefeated record. He led Green Canyon in scoring for two of the three games last week, adding 19 against Minico and 12 against Twin Falls. For the whole week (three games), he averaged 22.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals.
Skinner continued her dominance, though only had one game to do so last week. She filled the stat sheet with 29 points, seven rebounds, four assists and five steals as the Riverhawks defeated Fremont on the road on Dec. 3.
Candidates for the Player of the Week award were nominated by Cache Valley Media Group staff and voted on by CVMG high school broadcast and sports staff.
