Utah State announces new security procedures for Maverik Stadium | Sports

LOGAN, Utah — In coordination with the Department of Homeland Security and local law enforcement, Utah State has announced several updates to their security procedures at Maverik Stadium in response to a recent assessment.

For fans attending events at Maverik Stadium, including home football games, clear bags (maximum 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches) will be accepted at all entrances. Opaque medical and diaper bags of reasonable size will only be allowed through Gates B and E. All attendees with non-clear bags will be directed to enter via Gates B and E, and will not be otherwise permitted entry into the facility.

Gates A and K will also be closed to public access and limited to entry for credentialed staff and media. The Jim & Carol Laub Athletics-Academic Complex, located beyond the north end zone, will be closed to public access on game days, including the Steve Mothersell Hall of Honor.

Utah State will also be implementing a “no re-entry” policy for events at Maverik Stadium. Fans will not be allowed to re-enter the facility except for extenuating circumstances approved by facility and event management command, such as retrieving medical equipment.

In maintaining a safe environment for all patrons, USU will also be extending road closures surrounding Maverik Stadium before game time. Beginning four hours before game time, 800 East will be closed between the two entrances into Lot A. Two hours before game time, 1000 North will be closed between the entrance to the south ticket office and the entrance to Lot D.

Due to ongoing construction, 1200 East will also be closed from 700 North to 1100 North, necessitating all patrons accessing Lot D on the upper east side of Maverik Stadium to access the lot via 1400 North going southbound on 1200 East. All patrons accessing the E Lots located to the southeast of the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum will be required to access the lot via 700 North/Aggie Boulevard and 1000 East. All single-game parking passes will be cashless and can be purchased in advance online for $10 or on game days at the F lot entrances for $15.

Parking

All Single-Game Parking sales will be cashless, starting this year. Those can be purchased in advance for $10 online, or for $15 on game days at the F lot entrances.
