SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State soccer (4-0, 0-0 MW) remained perfect on the season with a 2-0 victory over Utah Wednesday evening at Ute Field, improving to 4-0 for the second time in program history. The Aggies have now out-scored opponents by a combined 11-0 this season.
After a scoreless first half in which the Aggies limited Utah to just a single shot, Utah State got on the board in the 58th minute when a throw-in to senior forward Bizzy Arevlo turned into a well-placed pass in the middle of the box for sophomore midfielder Summer Diamond, who delivered a right-footer into the back of the net.
Just five minutes later, Utah State tacked on another when graduate defender Kylie Olsen found graduate midfielder Alex Day, who ricocheted a shot off the woodwork and into the net to make it 2-0.

HEAD COACH MANNY MARTINS ON THE PERFORMANCE
“We’re ranked for the first time and I knew that we were going to have to ride out the fact that there’s something new in the environment. It took us a half to get used to things, that was probably the worst half of soccer we’ve had. But we stayed true to our identity. Once we got to halftime and realized that nothing changed with us being ranked, we were able to be us in the second half and it was a different game. We had two great goals, and the personalities of our players started to come out again.”
