At the number seven spot in Cache Valley Media Group’s Top 25 Aggies, ranking the best Utah State football players of the upcoming 2024 season, is tight end Broc Lane.
Lane has been at Utah State since 2020 and in his time in Logan has played in 26 games. Injuries have limited his impact so far, but in 2023 Lane saw a breakthrough, starting 10 games in 11 overall appearances. He caught 21 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown. His two most productive games of the season were also against to of the Aggies toughest games. Lane caught five passes for 40 yards against Air Force and four passes for 47 yards against Fresno State. This upcoming season, Lane is expected to factor heavily into USU’s offense and passing attack.
The Top 25 Aggies is based on a vote from members of Utah State media including Jason Walker, Eric Frandsen, Craig Hislop and Ajay Salvesen. A public fan poll was also used with its results being used as a fifth ballot. The full list of 25 players will be revealed one at a time each weekday on the Full Court Press (106.9 FM, 1390 AM) at 4:25 p.m. from July 22 until August 26.
