LOGAN — Utah State University continues to shake up not only its football program — but also its athletics program by terminating its senior woman administrator in the athletics department on Monday afternoon.
Amy Crosbie served as the Executive Associate Athletics Director for Internal Affairs and Senior Woman Administrator at USU for the past five years before being terminated on Monday, as confirmed by a spokesperson for Utah State University.
On July 2, USU announced the termination of its head football coach Blake Anderson, Associate Vice President & Deputy Athletic Director of External Affairs Jerry Bovee, along with Director of Player Development and Community Austin Albrecht. USU stated the decision came after a “thorough external review of alleged noncompliance with university policies that implement Title IX, which require full and timely reporting of disclosures of sexual misconduct — including domestic violence — and prohibit employees from investigating disclosures of sexual misconduct themselves.”
When asked if Crosbie’s termination was related to other recent athletic department terminations tied to alleged Title IX noncompliance of university policies, USU declined to provide further comment.
Crosbie oversaw compliance, academics and strength & conditioning, as well as Title IX oversight, and sport supervision for gymnastics, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track & field/cross country, and volleyball. In her capacity as a Senior Woman Administrator she was also responsible for promoting women’s representation in college sports leadership and management.
Crosbie was in her second stint in the USU athletic department, having previously spent seven years as an administrator with the Aggies before taking on the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator roles at Weber State University from 2010 to 2019. In June 2019 Crosbie returned to Logan to take on her aforementioned role.
Former Deputy Athletic Director at Utah State University, Jerry Bovee took to X (Formerly known as Twitter) Monday evening to state, “The student-athlete experience for just over 400 young people just slipped a notch backward.” He added that his former colleague would be missed and referred to Crosbie as “one of the best people I’ve ever worked with.”
Crosbie’s tenure at Weber State overlapped almost entirely with that Bovee, who was the athletic director for the Wildcats for 10 years. She was hired at USU the same month Bovee began his job with the university.
