LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnast Brianna Brooks qualified as an individual to compete in Berkeley, California, at the NCAA Regional Championships it was announced Monday. The senior from Las Vegas, Nevada, qualified on bars and will compete in Session I of the second round of the California Regional held at Haas Pavilion on Friday, April 5th, at 2 p.m. (MT). “We are thrilled for Brianna to be competing for the second year in a row as a bar’s specialist,” said USU head coach Kristin White. “It is an incredible honor to qualify to the NCAA Championships as an individual. Kyrie Irving scored 27 points for the Mavericks, who earned their fourth consecutive victory. P.J. Washington had 16 points, and Daniel Gafford finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Lauri Markkanen made six 3-pointers and scored 34 points for Utah. Markkanen ranks third among NBA 7-footers with 1,001 made 3-pointers for his career in his seventh season. John Collins added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Jazz, who lost to Dallas for the second time in five days. Collin Sexton had 20 points. Pac-12’s remaining schools finalize financial agreement with 10 departing members – Cache Valley Daily

(AP Photo/Ralph Freso, File) Oregon State and Washington State have finalized a settlement over financial distributions with the 10 schools leaving the Pac-12 . The departing schools will have $5 million withheld during the 2024 fiscal year for a total of $50 million under the deal announced Monday. The departing schools also will pay a $1.5 million “supplemental contribution” to the conference that will be used by the remaining schools to navigate an uncertain future. The departing members will not be entitled to any revenue generated after this year and will have no “vote, direction input or other power with the conference’s use, allocation of expenditure of the supplemental contribution.” The settlement was agreed to in principal late last year. “We are pleased to finalize an agreement with OSU and WSU that provides support for all our student-athletes while ensuring an equal distribution of the vast majority of funds earned by all 12 schools during the 2023-24 academic year,” the 10 schools who are leaving said

Sprinkle’s hiring came one day after Utah State was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with a second round loss to Purdue. “It was going to take something special for me to leave Logan, and the University of Washington was it,” Sprinkle said in a statement. “The university means a great deal to our family and I am excited to return to my home state.” Sprinkle, 47, spent just one season at Utah State but it was a massively successful year.
