LOGAN, Utah – Utah State will face Marshall in the opening round of the 2023 Cayman Islands Classic as announced by the tournament on Wednesday. The Aggies and the Herd will tip at 3 p.m. (MT), in the first game of the evening session on Sunday, Nov. 19. Games continue on Monday, Nov. 20, and Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Utah State enters the 2023-24 season under the direction of first-year Aggie head coach Danny Sprinkle. USU appeared in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, posting a 26-9 record last season while tying for second in the Mountain West with a 13-5 mark.
Marshall had one of NCAA basketball’s best turnarounds in 2022-23, winning the most regular season games (24) in 76 years while doubling its win total from its previous season. The Herd did so in its first year as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.
