Sky View and Green Canyon boys lacrosse teams advance to championship – Cache Valley Daily

Photo by Clint Allen SALT LAKE CITY – The 4A boys lacrosse championship on Friday, May 25 will be a rematch of last year’s title game, featuring Sky View and Green Canyon. #1 Sky View defeated #5 Judge Memorial 15-10 on Wednesday in the 4A boys lacrosse semifinal at Westminster College. The rematch of a game played on April 24 had nearly the exact same outcome, with Sky View winning 15-11 exactly one month ago. Sky View has been the top team in 4A all season, suffering only one loss early in the season (7-4 vs 6A Lone Peak on March 11). During these playoffs, Sky View defeated Mountain Crest 21-8 on Saturday and Judge Memorial 15-10 on Wednesday. The Bobcats will play in the 4A title game at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman. Utah State gymnastics joins the Mountain West in 2023-24

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnastics will officially compete in the Mountain West Conference as the league announced the addition of women’s gymnastics as the conference’s 19th sponsored sport starting with the 2023-2024 academic year. “The addition of women’s gymnastics to the Mountain West will allow us to cultivate more opportunities for female student-athletes to compete at the highest level, while promoting the academic missions of our member institutions,” MW Commissioner Gloria Nevarez said. “The profile of women’s college gymnastics is exploding. Utah State’s nine all-conference selections ranked as the seventh-most in the league behind Boise State (16), San Diego State (14), Fresno State (13), Wyoming (13), Air Force (12) and Colorado State (11), and ahead of New Mexico (8), San José State (8), Hawai’i (7) and Nevada (6). Utah State had one player named to the first team in sophomore safety Ike Larsen. Four players were named to the second team in senior punt returner Cooper Jones, senior defensive tackle Hale Motu’apuaka, senior linebacker MJ Tafisi and senior wide receiver Terrell Vaughn, who was recognized on the second team as both a wide receiver and kick returner.
