(AP Photo/Young Kwak) LOGAN — Utah State landed two recruitments in one day for men’s basketball, getting a commitment from 6-foot-10 center Jackson Grant. The Aggies also got a commitment from Darius Brown earlier in the day. Grant, a former four-star recruit out of Olympia High School in Washington, played two seasons at the University of Washington before entering the transfer portal at the end of the 2022-23 season. He originally committed to play for Danny Sprinkle at Montana State but re-opened his commitment after Sprinkle left for Logan. In 2021 Grant was named not only the Gatorade Washington High School Player of the Year but also a McDonald’s All-American. As a senior Grant averaged 22.9 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game with a field goal percentage of 65.6. He was a consensus top 100 prospect, ranking 65th in the RSCI Top 100.
