2023 CVMG Girls Basketball All-Region awards — Emilee Skinner named MVP – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN – Cache Valley Media Group is proud to present its Region 11 All-Region awards for the 2023 Girls Basketball season. This season featured numerous great players and several dominant teams as Region 11 featured three of the best teams, not only in 4A, but in the entire state of Utah. The region produced the 4A state champions, the Ridgeline Riverhawks, who marched through the season with a perfect record. The awards and All-Region teams were voted on by Cache Valley Media Group’s group of high school broadcasters, including “Hurricane” John Newbold, Jason Walker, Clint Payne, Dave Simmons, “The Patriot” Nick Zollinger, Jake Ellis, “The Coach” John Olsen, Cade Forest, Terrell Baldwin, Trent Carter, Josh Theurer, Logan Webber and Eric Frandsen. Cache Valley Media Group is proud to present its Region 11 All-Region awards for the 2023 Boys Basketball season. The region produced numerous great players, making for a tight race to be named among the best in Cache Valley. Sky View found many spots at the top by virtue of being the Region 11 and 4A state champion. But while the Bobcats were a truly dominant team, they did not have a monopoly on top-tier talent in the region. (AP Photo/Jason Redmond) SEATTLE (AP) — Jordan Morris scored his league-leading third goal of the season and Stefan Frei posted his second straight clean sheet to spark the Seattle Sounders to a 2–0 victory over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night. Morris, who last week became the first player to score two goals in his first match of the season three different times, gave the Sounders (2-0-0) a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute. Alex Roldan had an assist on the score. Roldan picked up his second assist on a goal by Héber in the 58th minute. Rookie Jalen Williams added a career-high 32 points on 12-of-15 shooting and Josh Giddey just missed a triple-double with 24 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for Oklahoma City, which beat the Jazz for the second time in three days. The Thunder also won in blowout fashion on Friday, 130-103. Utah trailed by double digits for the final 42 minutes of Sunday’s game.
