Utah State Track & Field rewrites record books at UW and Stacy Dragila Invitationals – Cache Valley Daily

VARIOUS, U.S.A. — At the UW Invitational in Seattle, Washington, and the Stacy Dragila Invitational in Pocatello, Idaho, Utah State’s men’s and women’s track & field teams proved their level of talent as 17 different Aggies placed their names among the all-time top-10 performances in USU history. The Aggies also came away with six individual titles, three at each competition on the weekend, and 15 total top-three finishes. At the UW Invitational, USU started strong on Friday night with strong performances in a trio of distance events. In the men’s 5,000 meters, Utah State swept the podium as senior Spencer Nelson won the event with a time of 14:06.19, ranking fifth all-time in the event at USU. Senior Bridger Altice and junior Max Wehrli then finished second and third with times of 14:12.02 and 14:12.25, respectively, moving into seventh and eighth all-time in program history. On the women’s side in the 5,000 meters, graduate senior Mica Rivera also notched the victory with a time of 16:24.57, the third-best time in the event in Utah State history. Junior Morgan French and sophomore Emma Thornley placed sixth and 11th with times of 16:40.94 and 16:52.17, respectively, and moved to fifth and sixth
