Get out ahead early
This won’t be the most crucial thing, but in Utah State’s last two games, a Quad 3 road game at Fresno State and Quad 4 home games vs San Jose State, the Aggies have let an inferior-on-paper team stick around before pulling away at the end. In neither case did it really end up hurting Utah State, but playing with fire is the kind of thing that will get you burned.
Don’t let Air Force heat up from three
Utah State nearly got stunned by San Jose State because of the Spartans’ red-hot 3-point shooting. The Falcons aren’t nearly the downtown shooting threat that SJSU is (AFA ranks 334th in 3-point percentage), but it’s not for a lack of trying. And in the two games where Air Force has shot above 40% from three, the Falcons came away with a win.
