Ridgeline girls golf team takes second at 4A state tournament | Sports



ST. GEORGE – Ridgeline High School’s girls golf team finished in second at the 4A state championship tournament.

The two-day event was staged at Southgate Golf Club in St. George on Wednesday and Thursday.

At the end of the first day, Ridgeline trailed eventual winner Crimson Cliffs by just two strokes, 331 to 329. However, Crimson Cliffs pulled away on Thursday to win by 21 strokes overall.

Ridgeline senior Maddie Fujimoto led the way for the Riverhawks, shooting a 77 on the first day and an 82 on the second to finish at 159 strokes, good enough for seventh place overall.

Joining Fujimoto in the top 10 was Ridgeline senior Rylee Holman, who followed up her 80 on Wednesday with an 85 on Friday to land in ninth place individually with a 165.
