A multiple career highs and a record-setting night are among the accomplishments of this week’s winners of the Cache Valley Media Group Boys and Girls Prep Players of the Week for Jan. 6 to Jan. 11. Sky View boys basketball guard Macade Rolle and Ridgeline girls basketball guard Emilee Skinner took home the honors for their performances last week.
The Prep Player of the Week awards are presented by BlueSky Restoration and Center Street Grill.
Rolle set a new career-best with 29 points in Sky View’s 65-49 win over Mountain Crest, also tying a career-high with four made 3-pointers in the same game. He led the Bobcats to a 2-0 week and into a tie for first place in Region 11, averaging 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists across the two outings.
Skinner became just the fourth Utah girls basketball player to eclipse 2,000 career points, doing so last Thursday during Ridgeline’s 69-22 win over Bear River. She had 33 points in that game, her second-highest total of the season, also grabbing nine rebounds, dishing out four assists and recording three steals and three blocks. In her other game of the week, Skinner scored 30 points against Green Canyon, adding eight rebounds.
