Utah State football has eight All-Mountain West honorees, including three second-team recipients | Sports

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State football had eight players garner all-Mountain West honors, including three second-team selections, as the league office announced its postseason football awards Tuesday. In all, USU had four offensive, and four defensive players recognized. Utah State had three players named to the Mountain West second team in senior running back Rahsul Faison, senior wide receiver Jalen Royals and senior defensive end Cian Slone. And four more Aggies were named honorable mention all-MW in graduate quarterback Spencer Petras, senior safety Jordan Vincent, redshirt junior cornerback DJ Graham II, junior defensive tackle Gabriel Iniguez Jr., and sophomore offensive lineman Teague Andersen. Royals is receiving Mountain West honors for the second time as he was a first team selection a year ago. Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, while UNLV linebacker Jackson Woodard was named the Defensive Player of the Year. UNLV returner Ricky White III was named the MW Special Teams Player of the Year and UNLV placekicker Caden Chittenden was named Freshman of the Year. OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Jalen Williams scored 28 points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 26 points, seven assists and six rebounds, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Utah Jazz 133-106 on Tuesday night in an NBA Cup game. Isaiah Joe had 19 points and fellow reserve Aaron Wiggins finished with 16 as the Thunder closed out West Group B play at 3-1. They would win the group if Phoenix beat San Antonio later Tuesday. Alexander, selected as Western Conference player of the month earlier Tuesday, scored 15 points after halftime. Oklahoma City twice led by as many as 30 points in the second half. Dadonov and Benn score as Stars beat Utah 2-1 for 3rd straight win | Sports

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Evgeni Dadonov and Jamie Benn each scored to help the Dallas Stars beat the Utah Hockey Club 2-1 on Monday night for their third straight win. Casey DeSmith stopped 34 shots for Dallas, which has won eight of its last 11 games. Nick Schmaltz scored and Karel Vejmelka finished with 19 saves for Utah, which fell to 3-2-1 in its last six. Dadonov scored on the power play at 7:07 of the second period and Benn made it 2-0 in the final minute of the period. Schmaltz got Utah on the scoreboard at 6:57 of the third.
