LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head men’s basketball coach Jerrod Calhoun announced the team’s 2025 signing class on Friday, a class which ranks 17th nationally according to 247Sports. This is the highest-rated class in program history, as well as the best in the Mountain West this year. It also includes three of the top 10 highest-rated signees in program history.
“Our staff and I are extremely excited to welcome six talented high school players into our storied program,” Calhoun said. “When we arrived in Logan, we set out to recruit student-athletes that exemplify what Utah State basketball is, and we feel like these six young men will help carry on our great tradition. They are all battle tested with winning pedigrees, coming from successful high school and grassroots programs.”
The six-player class of incoming freshmen includes guard Jax Allen (Orem, Utah / Orem HS), guard Brayden Boe (Beaverton, Oregon / Dream City Christian), wing Adlan Elamin (Arlington, Virginia / St. Paul VI Catholic HS), forward David Iweze (Roanoke, Texas / iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy), guard Elijah Perryman (San Francisco, California / Clayton Valley Charter HS) and wing Kingston Tosi (Anchorage, Alaska / Millennium HS).
Jax Allen – Guard – Orem, Utah – Orem HS
Allen is a 6-foot-4 guard out of Orem (Utah) High School. He helped lead the Tigers to a Utah 5A Region 7 title and 5A state quarterfinal appearance as a junior in 2023-24. That season, he earned all-state second team honors as he averaged 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, shooting 46 percent from the field, 35 percent from 3-point range, and 80 percent from the line.
“Jax is a talented combo guard with a tremendous competitive spirit and a high upside,” Calhoun said. “He will join our program in 2027 after completing his mission, and we are thrilled to add one of the best high school players in the state of Utah to our roster.”
Brayden Boe – Guard – Beaverton, Oregon – Dream City Christian
Boe, a 6-5 guard, prepped at Dream City Christian School in Glendale, Arizona. He is the 34th-ranked shooting guard in the class of 2025, and a four-star prospect according to ESPN’s recruiting rankings. His team enters the 2024-25 season as the 10th-ranked independent high school squad in the country, according to MaxPreps. Prior to attending Dream City Christian, Boe was an all-state first team selection and was the two-time Metro League Player of the Year at Mountainside High School in Beaverton, Oregon. There, he was the second-highest ranked recruit in the state according to Prep Hoops Oregon.
“Brayden is a talented guard that can play multiple positions and score from anywhere on the court,” Calhoun said. “We love his toughness and maturity. We expect his game to continue to grow and evolve this year as he competes for one of the top high school programs in the country at Dream City Christian.”
Adlan Elamin – Wing – Arlington, Virginia – St. Paul VI Catholic HS
Elamin, a 6-9 wing, prepped at St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Chantilly, Virginia. He is a four-star prospect according to both ESPN and 247Sports, and is the 141st-ranked player and the 27th-ranked power forward in the country according to 247Sports. He helped the Panthers to the No. 1 ranking in the country in 2023-24, according to MaxPreps, while his team enters this season ranked No. 9 in the country.
“We are excited to add Adlan to our roster. His size and length will allow us to move him around to play multiple positions,” Calhoun said. “He is one of the most versatile players in the nation and he will be a perfect fit in our system. He is a winner who comes from one of the best high school programs in the country year in and year out.”
David Iweze – Forward – Roanoke, Texas – iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy
Iweze, a 6-9 forward, joins the Aggies out of iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy in Lewisville, Texas. He is ranked as the 18th best prospect in Texas and the 35th best center overall in the class by 247Sports. In 2023-24 as a junior, Iweze averaged 12.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.2 steals per contest.
“David gives us extreme toughness and length on our front line,” Calhoun said. “David is a young man that has continued to improve at a rapid rate over the last six months and we feel as though he will continue to develop into a major difference-maker in our system.”
Elijah Perryman – Guard – San Francisco, California – Clayton Valley Charter HS
Perryman is a 6-1 guard out of Clayton Valley Charter High School in Concord, California. He has averaged 14.7 points while playing 59 games in two seasons at the varsity level. As a junior in 2023-24, he averaged 15.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.6 steals and 3.4 steals per game for the Ugly Eagles to earn all-state honors. He is ranked as the 29th point guard in the class and the 25th overall prospect in California by 247Sports.
“Elijah has a unique ability to make others better, a skill we strive to recruit at the point guard position,” Calhoun said. “His ability to create for both himself and his teammates will make him dynamic in our pick and roll offense.”
Kingston Tosi – Wing – Anchorage, Alaska – Millennium HS
Tosi is a 6-7 wing from Millennium High School in Goodyear, Arizona. Tosi is a four-star recruit according to both 247Sports and ESPN, and is the 123rd-ranked prospect and 20th-ranked power forward in the nation by 247Sports. As a junior in 2023-24, he averaged 17.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest, helping the Tigers to a 25-5 record and a runner-up finish in the Arizona open division state championship.
“Kingston is one of the most versatile players in the country,” Calhoun said. “With his size, length, and toughness, he has the ability to impact the game in a variety of different ways. He will thrive in our system.”
