The 7-footer was hobbling noticeably in the final minutes. Jordan Clarkson had 16 points and John Collins scored 15 for Utah (2-7). San Antonio rookie Stephon Castle had a career-high 23 points in his third NBA start. Wembanyama shot 6 for 9 on 3-pointers and Castle, also 20 years old, was 3 for 7. Utah State outpaced by #21 Washington State, eliminated from bowl eligibility | Sports

It’s not like hopes for a bowl game were super high after Utah State’s 2-6 start. But whatever hope was left got dashed by No. 21 Washington State which dominated the Aggies 49-28 in the football-after-dark matchup Saturday evening. Utah State showed a fair bit of competence in the first quarter, being tied with the Cougars 7-7 at the end of the first 15 minutes. The Aggies had gone down 7-0, but a strong drive on offense, going 75 yards, made it look like they could compete with the Cougars. Spencer Petras completed 5 of 5 passes for 48 yards, including a touchdown pass to Jack Hestera to cap the drive (Hestera caught three passes on that drive alone). .@spencerpetras with the 🎯#AggiesAllTheWay pic.twitter.com/hV9V0E1gfy — USU Football (@USUFootball) November 10, 2024 True freshman running back Herschel Turner provided run support for the offense, putting in a few key rushes on that scoring drive, one for nine yards and another gain of five and a two-yard gain on 2nd & 1. Turner started the game in place of Rahsul Faison, the usual starter. Faison, who had 797 yards for the season prior to Saturday and started every game since Week 2,

Aggies defeat Broncos to earn second-straight Mountain West tournament title | Sports

SAN DIEGO, California – No. 25 Utah State soccer (18-1-4, 7-1-3 MW) won its second-straight Mountain West Conference Tournament title Saturday evening, as the 2-seed Aggies defeated top-seed Boise State 2-1 at the SDSU SportsDeck in San Diego. With the win, USU guarantees its spot in the NCAA Tournament as a historic season continues further into the postseason.  The Aggies got off to a hot start, when a takeaway from near midfield in the 10th minute turned into a Utah State goal. Senior midfielder Rine Yonaha found junior forward Tess Werts in transition, who sent it into the box for junior forward Kaylie Chambers. Chambers won a race to the ball with the Bronco goalkeeper, then chipped it just past her to make it 1-0.  Chambers wasn’t done, however. After the Broncos evened the match at 1-1 in the 21st minute with a long-range goal, the trio combined for another big play as Chambers struck again in the 25th minute to collect a first-half brace. A takeaway by Yonaha followed by a well-placed pass to Werts freed up Chambers for her second of the night as she delivered a left-footer into the back of the net.  SCORING SUMMARY 9:23 –    Kaylie
