Dylan Guenther scores twice, Utah outlasts Islanders 5-4 in OT to improve to 2-0 | Sports

NEW YORK (AP) — Josh Doan tied it with 1:54 left and Dylan Guenther scored his second goal of the game in overtime to give Utah a 5-4 victory over the New York Islanders on Thursday night. Doan tied it 13 seconds after Islanders newcomer Max Tsyplakov scored his first career goal to give New York a 4-3 lead. Lawson Crouse and Barrett Hayton also scored and Connor Ingram stopped 21 shots to help Utah improve to 2-0 in its first season in Salt Lake City after moving from Arizona. Utah beat Chicago 5-2 at home on Tuesday night. Anthony Duclair, Bo Horvat and Jean-Gabriel Pageau also scored for New York in its opener. Semyon Varlamov made 21 saves. Audrey White, Graham Livingston earn CVMG Girls and Boys Prep Player of the Week (Sept. 30 – Oct. 4) | Sports

This week’s Cache Valley Media Group Girls and Boys Prep Players of the Week are Green Canyon girls volleyball outside hitter Audrey White and Ridgeline football wide receiver Graham Livingston. The Prep Player of the Week awards are presented by BlueSky Restoration and Center Street Grill. White is earning the award for the second time this season after leading Green Canyon to a 2-0 week to remain undefeated on the season. She tallied 40 kills over two games last week on a .508 hitting percentage. The Wolves have also wrapped up the Region 11 crown with just under two weeks left to play in the regular season. Livingston had a career night in a highly anticipated matchup with Sky View last Thursday. He caught seven passes for a career-best 238 receiving yards and reeled in three touchdown receptions. It was his second 200-yard game of the year. This is also the second week in a row a Ridgeline football player has won the boys player of the week award with quarterback Nate Dahle winning it last week.
