LOGAN — Green Canyon girls soccer senior forward Katelyn Jensen and Logan football two-way star senior Reed Olsen are the first two high schoolers to receive the Cache Valley Media Group Prep Player of the Week awards for the 2024-25 high school sports season.
Jensen recorded her first career hat trick in Green Canyon’s 6-4 victory over Skyridge. She also had one assist in that game. Jensen followed it up with by getting an assist against Farmington and also converting a penalty kick in the eventual shootout win.
Olsen dominated on both sides of the ball during Logan’s 30-27 season-opening win over Hillcrest. He caught 7 passes for 110 receiving yards and three touchdowns, including a go-ahead score in the fourth quarter. He also had two sacks, one of which came on a game-sealing defensive stand with under a minute to play.

Candidates for the Player of the Week award were nominated by Cache Valley Media Group staff and voted on by CVMG high school broadcast and sports staff.
