The countdown of the Cache Valley Media Group’s Top 25 Aggies of 2024 has made it to the top 15 players of the upcoming Utah State football season. And at number 15 on the list, it’s linebacker Clyde Washington.
Washington is 6-foot-3, 240-pound graduate senior and will wear number 42 this season for Utah State. Washington is a newcomer to the Aggies this year, transferring from Purdue University. He played consistently for the Boilermakers, appearing in 36 games since his freshman year in 2020, but hasn’t been featured in a larger role aside from a handful of games started in 2023. He has 42 career tackles, most of those in the last two seasons, with one interception.
Washington will look to increase his role with the Aggies in a linebacker room that needs players to step up in place of the two starters lost this offseason.
The Top 25 Aggies is based on a vote from members of Utah State media including Jason Walker, Eric Frandsen, Craig Hislop and Ajay Salvesen. A public fan poll was also used with its results being used as a fifth ballot. The full list of 25 players will be revealed one at a time each weekday on the Full Court Press (106.9 FM, 1390 AM) at 4:25 p.m. from July 22 until August 26.
