Utah State men’s basketball releases non-conference schedule | Sports

LOGAN — Most of the non-conference schedule for Utah State men’s basketball was released Thursday afternoon, the 11-game slate includes seven home games, three neutral site games and one true road game. Of those game, eight opponents are known, with the remaining to be announced later.

Utah State’s season will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 6 with a home game against Alcorn State. That will be the first of four straight home games to start the season, including matchups with Westminster (Nov. 13) and Montana (Nov. 18). The Aggies will then spend the rest of November on the road with a neutral site game against Iowa in Kansas City and then participate in the NIT Season Tip-Off in Orlando (Utah State had previously been reported to be playing in the ESPN Events Invitational, but today’s release by USU contradicts that report. The reported dates are the same, Nov. 28-29, as are the number of games).

Following the road trip, USU will return home for three games against Utah Tech (Dec. 7), South Florida (Dec. 14) and UC San Diego (Dec. 17). The conclusion of the non-conference slate will be its one true road game at St. Mary’s (Dec. 22).

Two of the Aggies’ unknown opponents are such because the full field of the NIT Season Tip-Off has not yet announced the full field of teams. The third unknown opponent is the Aggies’ foe in what appears to be an already scheduled Nov. 9 home game. There simply isn’t an opponent listed as it’s to be announced.
