Full Breakdown of Gonzaga to Utah State transfer Pavle Stosic | Sports

The roster building for first-year Utah State men’s basketball head coach Jerrod Calhoun is inching toward its conclusion as the 14th member of the 2024-25 roster formally committed to USU just a few short days ago. Former Gonzaga power forward and Serbian international, Pavle Stosic will join the Aggies and create an interesting offseason battle for playing time in the frontcourt. Stats for European prospects are often difficult to find and usually don’t come in large volume. Stosic played sparingly for most of his teams or in shorter competitions such as the 2021 U18 European Challengers (only five games played). But here’s the full sample size of available statistics from 2020 until his most recent season at Gonzaga (small note on the table, the season at Gonzaga is split in two to separate the two exhibitions he appeared in — the team’s inter-squad preseason scrimmage and exhibition against a lower division school). Those aren’t exactly mind-blowing numbers. In addition to not having a ton of volume (the only two rows that represent him playing volume minutes were the U18 FIBA and the 2022-23 Levitec Huesca), the numbers themselves aren’t all that great. Report: Utah State men’s basketball to play in ESPN Events Invitational | Sports

According to reports form college basketball reporter Rocco Miller, Utah State men’s basketball team will be a participant in the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando this November. Eight teams are part of the event, although Miller’s report indicates a change in the typical format of the event. They will apparently be split into two brackets with four teams in each. USU’s half will include North Texas, Northern Iowa and St. Bonaventure as potential opponents. The Aggies will not play all three teams due to the bracket format. The winners of the two games will play each other with the losers facing off in the other. In the other bracket, the four teams are Florida, Minnesota, Wake Forest and Wichita State. Possible 2026 World Cup training camps include sites in non-tournament cities | Sports

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Possible team training camps for the 2026 World Cup include sites in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Cincinnati; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Louisville, Kentucky; St. Louis; Salt Lake City and Herriman, Utah; San Antonio; and Westfield, Indiana. FIFA announced more details of the tournament Wednesday, one day after the two-year mark before the kickoff on June 11, 2026, at Mexico City, The first World Cup to be played in three nations and the first with a field expanded to 48 nations will have 78 of 104 games in the United States and 13 each in Mexico and Canada. The final will be July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, FIFA announced on Feb. 4. All games from the quarterfinals on will be in the U.S. Proposed training sites in the areas of U.S. game venues are in Chester, Pennsylvania; Dallas, Fort Worth and Frisco, Texas; Kansas City and Riverside, Missouri, and Lawrence, Kansas; Marietta, Georgia; and St. Louis. There also are possible training camps in Guadalajara, Mexico City and Toluca, and Monterrey but none were listed in Canada. FIFA said more possible training camps will be added.
