Boys and Girls Lacrosse final RPI, playoff brackets released by UHSAA | Sports

LOGAN — The final RPI and playoff matchups of the 2023-24 high school sports season have been released. Boys and girls lacrosse will wrap up this prep sports year with playoffs beginning Tuesday with the RPI released earlier today determining the matchups.

Bear River girls dominated once again, with a second undefeated campaign in the last three years (and a 52-1 overall record in those three seasons), ending the regular season with a 16-0 record and the Region 11 title. The Bears rank first in the RPI by a comfortable margin ahead of Payson and in front of the next-closest Region 11 teams, Ridgeline at fifth and Sky View at sixth. Mountain Crest ranked eighth, Green Canyon 12th and Logan 16th.

The playoffs for girls lacrosse technically begin on Tuesday with a play-in game between the bottom two seeded teams, but all other 14 teams will have their first-round games Thursday, played at the home site of the higher ranked team at 4 p.m. Quarterfinal games will be on May 18, also at home sites with the semifinal games on May 21 at Westminster and the championship game on May 23 at Zions Bank Stadium.

In boys lacrosse, region champion Sky View finished second in the RPI, a mere .0067 points behind Judge Memorial for the top spot. The Bobcats went undefeated in region play and 13-4 on the season overall.

The boys’ playoffs begin on Tuesday, with all first-round game played that day at the home sites of the higher ranked teams, most of which will be at 4 p.m. Quarterfinal games will be at homes sites on May 18 with the semifinal games May 22 at Westminster and championship May 24 at Zions Bank Stadium.
