Oluwaseyi helps Minnesota United earn 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake | Sports

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Tani Oluwaseyi scored late in the second half to help Minnesota United earn a 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake on Saturday night. Real Salt Lake (3-2-2) scored first when Cristian Arango used an assist from Andrés Gómez in the 24th minute to send a header to the top left corner of the net. It was the sixth goal of the season for Arango, who was coming off a second-half hat trick in RSL’s 3-1 victory over St. Louis City. He is tied with Lewis Morgan of the New York Red Bulls for the league lead. Oluwaseyi pulled Minnesota United (3-1-2) even in the 87th minute when he took a pass from Robin Lod and scored his second goal of the season — and career. Minnesota United was forced to play a man down just two minutes later when midfielder Joseph Rosales was hit with a red card. Dayne St. Clair finished with four saves for Minnesota United. Zac MacMath saved six shots for Real Salt Lake, which improved to 1-1-2 on the road this season. Real Salt Lake returns home to play the Columbus Crew on Saturday. Competitive QB battle among works in progress for USU spring football | Sports

LOGAN — Two-and-a-half weeks into spring ball and Utah State is in pretty much the same position any Aggie team has been after just 18 days on the job. It’s a work in progress. “We’re so far away from, in terms of execution, what we want to be. Especially defensively,” USU head coach Blake Anderson said after Saturday’s first spring scrimmage for the team. “But compared to Friday to today, you can see they were just a little bit more prepared, a little bit more energy over there. Tackled better. “I like the fact that each time we go out we get a little bit more competitive. Make a few less mistakes and make a few more big plays.” A new defensive coordinator, plus new starters all across the defense, newcomers to the offensive line and wide receiver positions, and a quarterback competition to boot has given Anderson a long checklist of things that need to get done this spring. Thankfully, this isn’t last spring where the team would have been even further behind after a brutal amount of attrition due to graduation and the transfer portal (although the Aggies aren’t out of the woods in that regard with the

Klay Thompson scores 32 points as Stephen Curry rests, Warriors beat stumbling Jazz 118-110 | Sports

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Klay Thompson found his offensive groove in a hurry, even on the toughest of shots with a defender in his face. Thompson scored 32 points and the Golden State Warriors ran away from the undermanned Utah Jazz early on the way to a 118-110 victory Sunday night. “He was amazing,” coach Steve Kerr said. “Klay’s shot-making really helped us get that lead.” The Warriors clinched at least a spot in the four-team play-in tournament before the game when Houston lost 147-136 in overtime to Dallas. The Warriors know they just have to “keep trying to win,” Kerr said, and he believes this team still has a great opportunity to make a special playoff run despite what could be a daunting road. “It’s going to be interesting, four games left and lots of possibilities,” he said. From the opening tip, Thompson came out looking for his shot to handle the bulk of the scoring load on a night Stephen Curry was held out for rest and Chris Paul started in his place as the Warriors won for the seventh time in eight games. Kerr utilized his 26th starting lineup combination of the season. The break gave Curry
