LOGAN — Sky View has swept this week’s Boys and Girls Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, Presented by McDonalds. Boys basketball guard Macade Rolle and girls basketball forward Clair Fischer earned the distinctions for this past week.
Rolle, an emerging sophomore guard for the Bobcats, set a career-high in points with 23 against Green Canyon and then followed it up with 20 against Mountain Crest for a second straight 20-point game. His 20 points, to go with five assists (which tied his previous career high) helped the Bobcats get their first win since the start of region play. For the week, Rolle averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 assists and shot 5 of 11 on 3-pointers overall.
Fischer played two dominant games for the Bobcats in a 2-0 week that solidified her team as the clear second-place team in the region and No. 4 team in the 4A RPI. She started the week by nearly recording a 20/20 game by scoring 24 points and grabbing 19 rebounds against Green Canyon and then dominated the paint defensively against Mountain Crest with 10 points, 9 rebounds and six blocks. That gave her weekly averages of 17.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 steals.
Other nominations for this week’s awards included Kyver Jensen (Bear River boys), Jared Anderson (Green Canyon boys), Jordan Child (Logan boys), Carson Cox (Ridgeline boys), Josh Arnell (Mountain Crest boys), Shelby Wilkinson (Bear River girls), Marissa Best (Green Canyon girls), Emilee Skinner (Ridgeline girls), and Kali Jones (Mountain Crest girls).
