LEFT – Mountain Crest girls soccer forward Hadli Barrera | RIGHT – Mountain Crest football quarterback Casey Crofts Two athletes from Mountain Crest High School have been named this week’s boys and girls Cache Valley Media Group Prep Players of the Week, presented by McDonalds. Hadli Barrera, a forward on MC’s girls soccer team, is the girls player of the week with Casey Crofts, quarterback of the Mustangs’ football team being named the boys player of the week. Barrera led Mountain Crest to a 2-0 week to wrap up the regular season. She recorded two second-half goals in the Mustangs’ 2-1 win over Sky View and then scored on of her team’s goals in a 2-0 win over Bear River. Those two wins clinched second place in Region 11 for Mountain Crest which will begin its playoff run on Thursday with a home match against Hurricane. Crofts completed 18 of 26 passes for a career-high 360 yards and a career-high tying three passing touchdowns. He also ran the ball five times for 12 yards.
