NORTH LOGAN – The Green Canyon Wolves sealed a Region 11 girls soccer title after a 1-0 victory over Sky View on Thursday and on Saturday morning were listed as the top overall team in 4A. The Utah High School Activities Association listed Green Canyon #1 in the final RPI rankings of the regular season, with Ridgeline and Mountain Crest joining them in the top 10.
Green Canyon finished the season with a 15-1-0 regular season record, their lone loss coming in region play against reigning 4A girls soccer champions Mountain Crest. The top eight teams in the final RPI standings receive a first round bye in the 4A girls soccer playoffs, which means Green Canyon waits to face the winner of #16 Jordan (7-9) vs #17 Provo (5-9) on October 10 with a tentative start at 4 p.m. in North Logan.
The Ridgeline Riverhawks finish the season ranked #4 with a 13-4-0 overall record. They will face the winner of #13 Logan (6-8-0) vs #20 Dixie (5-10-0) on Oct. 10, setting up a potential rematch between Region 11 teams. Ridgeline defeated Logan twice during the regular season, but both games came down to the wire (3-2 in their first match, tied 1-1 after extra time in their second match but the Riverhawks won 7-6 in a shootout). Logan hosts Dixie on Oct. 5.
Mountain Crest (10-6-0) just missed out on receiving a first round bye and the #9 ranked Mustangs will host #24 Hurricane (4-11-0) on Oct. 5th. That game is tentatively scheduled for 4 p.m. If the Mustangs win, they will travel to #8 Crimson Cliffs (12-4-0) on Oct. 10th.
Sky View is ranked #15 with a 6-10-0 record and will host #18 Hillcrest (6-10-0) on Oct. 5th. If the Bobcats win, they will travel to #2 Stansbury who has a 15-2-0 record.
Bear River finishes the regular season ranked #21 with a 4-11-0 record. The Bears will travel to #12 Uintah (8-8-0) and if they win will face #5 Timpanogos (12-3-0).
