Utah State football center Falepule Alo

LOGAN — At No. 12 on the Cache Valley Media Group Top 25 Aggies of 2023 is senior center Falepule Alo. Entering his fourth season Alo is the projected starter at center.

This season won’t be the first time Alo is “starter” so to speak. In 2020, Alo started four times in five appearances at center. In 2021, Alo began the year splitting snaps and starts with Chandler Dolphin, but an injury midseason sent Alo to the bench the rest of the Year.

In 2022, Dolphin held a firm grasp on the starting center spot and most of its snaps, but Alo contributed as a rotation guard. He split snaps with both Wade Meacham and Weylin Lapuaho. Despite not starting a single game, Alo played a career-high 561 snaps (sixth-most on the team) in his 12 appearances on the year.

With Dolphin and Lapuaho gone, Alo is the most experienced player on the interior O-line in terms of total snaps played. He’s capable of playing both guard spots but is most likely to go back to center like he played in 2020 and 2021.
