Top 25 Aggies of 2023 — #15 Max Alford – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN — Coming in at number 15 on the Cache Valley Media Group Top 25 Aggies of 2023 is sophomore linebacker Max Alford.

In 2022, Alford played a bit more than perhaps was expected as a true freshman. He appeared in all 13 games for the Aggies. Injuries at the position pushed him into a bigger role and eventually he became a starter, starting the final four games of the season. Alford finished ninth on the team in total tackles with 39 along with 3.5 tackles for loss. In the First Responder Bowl against Memphis, Alford recorded career-highs in both tackles (nine) and TFLs (2.0).

Utah State defensive coordinator Joe Cauthen gave Alford a vote of confidence, saying in an interview recently: “I think Max Alford is going to be a really good player here.”
