LOGAN — The first defensive lineman on the Cache Valley Media Group Top 25 Aggies of 2023, senior defensive tackle Poukesi Vakauta is poised to be a rock of the interior D-line for Utah State.

Vakauta has spent the last two seasons in the regular rotation on the defensive line, though not quite at the top of the rotation. He played roughly 300 snaps in 2021 and 2022, but did make his first starts (six in total) in 2022. This year Vakauta is likely to be a starter, or at least someone getting volume snaps on the defensive line. This offseason he bulked up, going from a listed 290 pounds last year to 305 this year.
