Top 25 Aggies of 2023 — #18 Gavin Barthiel – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN — One of many transfers on the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Gavin Barthiel checks in at number 18 on the Cache Valley Media Group Top 25 Aggies of 2023.

Barthiel was a three-star recruit out of Lakeland, Florida but saw limited playing time in two seasons at Washington State. He redshirted his first season and appeared in five games with all of his snaps (39 in total) coming on kick return and punt return teams. His role in Logan figures to be much larger as the 6-foot, 225-pound linebacker brings Pac-12 talent to a linebacker room that took a major hit with the loss of AJ Vongphachanh to the transfer portal. Barthiel could become an instant-impact in the front seven alongside veteran starter MJ Tafisi.
