Bear River and Sky View take top spots in final lacrosse RPI rankings – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN – Dominating seasons for the Sky View boys and Bear River girls lacrosse teams yielded top overall positions in the final RPI rankings of the season released by the Utah High School Activities Association. Both the Bobcats (18-1) and the Bears (14-1) only lost one game the entire season. Since the Logan boys team was disqualified after forfeiting multiple games in 4A, only eight teams advance to the playoffs. For girls lacrosse, the Bears earn a first round bye with nine teams participating and will face the winner of the play-in game between Logan and Judge Memorial.

The first round of the 4A boys lacrosse playoffs will take place on Saturday, May 20th at home sites. All start times are tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m., though both Sky View and Bear River have both their boys and girls teams hosting first round games. Their start times are likely to change.

#1 Sky View will host #8 Mountain Crest in a Region 11 rematch; #2 Ridgeline will host #7 Waterford; #6 Green Canyon will travel to #3 Juan Diego Catholic; and, #4 Bear River will host #5 Judge Memorial Catholic. The semifinals are scheduled to take place on May 24th at Westminster College with the first game at 1 p.m. and the second game at 3 p.m. The championship game will be played May 26th at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman at 5:30 p.m.

#9 Logan will play at #8 Judge Memorial Catholic on May 18 at 4 p.m. in the play-in game. All other playoff games will take place on May 20th at home sites. All start times are tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. (though as mentioned previously Bear River and Sky View are likely to have different start times for their games).

#1 Bear River will host whoever wins the play-in game between Logan and Judge Memorial; #2 Mountain Crest will host #7 Green Canyon in a Region 11 rematch; #6 Ridgeline will travel to #3 Juan Diego Catholic; and #4 Sky View will host #5 Waterford. The semifinals are scheduled to take place at Westminster College on May 23rd with the first game at 1 p.m. and the second at 3. The 4A girls lacrosse championship will be played on May 25th at 5:30 p.m. at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman.
