LOGAN – Ridgeline High School girls basketball guard Emilee Skinner has been named Cache Valley Media Group Prep Basketball Player of the Week for a second week in a row following another very impressive week for the sophomore.
Skinner’s performance last week was almost equal to the week that won her the award for the week of Dec. 5-10. She led the Riverhawks to another undefeated week, scoring a season-high 32 points against Corner Canyon on Friday. She also added 10 rebounds (for her first double-double of the year) plus five steals, four assists and a block in the game against Corner Canyon. On the week Skinner averaged 25.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.5 steals.
The other nominees for this week’s award were Hannah Radford (Sky View girls), Jared Anderson (Green Canyon boys), Kyver Jensen (Bear River boys), Luke Sorenson (Ridgeline boys) and Maren McKenna (Green Canyon girls).
Candidates for the Player of the Week award were nominated by Cache Valley Media Group staff and then voted on by all high school broadcast crew members, including “Hurricane” John Newbold, Jason Walker, Clint Payne, Dave Simmons, “The Patriot” Nick Zollinger, Jake Ellis, John Olsen, Cade Forest, Terrell Baldwin, Trent Carter and Eric Frandsen. Some stats may be unofficial.
