LOGAN – After several weeks of discussion and public comment, the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) has officially adopted regions and classifications for high schools throughout the state of Utah. Of particular note, Region 11 will remain the same through the 2023-25 academic-athletic seasons with Sky View, Green Canyon, Logan, Ridgeline, Bear River and Mountain Crest staying in the 4A classification. The first consideration of classifications from UHSAA had Logan as the largest school in 3A. But when the organization announced schools’ proposed regions, they kept Logan in Region 11 as a 4A school. Officials for Logan had appealed to the UHSAA Board of Trustees to stay in 3A due to student population and participation in activities. In its first consideration for classifications, UHSAA considered Ogden and Ben Lomond as 4A schools, but Thursday’s announcement keeps Ogden and Ben Lomond in 3A where they have been, while denying Logan’s request to join them. A public hearing was held on Wednesday, December 14th to receive feedback from districts and schools on the placement of member schools into regions. According to UHSAA, in addition to the hearing, the UHSAA Board of Trustees received numerous
