SMITHFIELD – For the second week in a row, a Sky View player has won the Cache Valley Media Group High School Player of the Week. This time it’s running back Brevin Egbert who led the way for the Bobcats. Egbert powered Sky View’s 35-14 win over a tough Mountain Crest team this past weekend. The Mustangs boast one of the best defensive units in 4A, but that didn’t stop Egbert from running roughshod over them. The junior ran for 211 yards and four rushing scores, including a 50-yard gallop to the end zone that put the Bobcats up 21-7 just before halftime. Egbert is the first Sky View player to rush for 200 yards since Tanner Stokes (213 yards) in 2018. He’s also the first to have four rushing TDs in a single game since Mason Falslev in a 2018 game vs Logan. The other two nominees for this week’s award were Ridgeline safety Owen Munk and Logan running back/safety Tytan Mason. Munk led the Riverhawks defensive unit to a 28-0 shutout win over the high-scoring Bear River offense. Mason filled the stat sheet on both sides of the ball in Logan’s 28-14 win at Green Canyon, tallying 122
