Aggies hosting Colorado State for Senior Night, trying to support Ukrainian-native Max Shulga – Cache Valley Daily

Photo by Robert K. Scott LOGAN, Utah — Several Aggies will play their final game at the Spectrum Saturday night. Utah State (16-13, 7-9) hosts Colorado State (22-4, 12-4) in the Aggies’ final home game and Senior Night.    “It’ll be a fun atmosphere for us and we want to honor those guys,” head coach Ryan Odom said. “I hope it’s packed for these guys on Saturday night.”   For Senior Night, Utah State will honor forwards Justin Bean and Brandon Horvath and guards Brock Miller and RJ Eytle-Rock. Bean and Miller have been Aggies since the 2017-18 season and Horvath and Eytle-Rock followed Odom to Logan this season.    When Odom first came to Logan last year, he was immediately impressed by Bean and Miller.   “I was just so impressed with the maturity level, just enjoyed every moment talking with them,” Odom said. “The leadership, I could tell immediately, that we had a chance to be successful and a lot of it was due to them and their leadership and experiences that they’ve had while wearing the Aggie uniform.”   Due to a back injury, Miller was limited this season. No. 14 Utah State places second in home tri meet against No. 12 BYU and No. 23 Towson – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN, Utah – No. 14 Utah State gymnastics celebrated its seniors on Friday night, but it was a junior that stole the show. Rebecca Wells won the all-around and tied for first on two other events to help the Aggies notch a 196.225 against No. 12 BYU and No. 23 Towson in front of 2,030 fans at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The Cougars won the meet with a 196.575, while the Tigers placed third with a 195.600. The 196.225 recorded by the Aggies is tied for the ninth-best home score in program history. At the conclusion of the meet, Utah State honor its three seniors in Carley Bayles (BB), Anique Grenier (UB) and Grace Rojas (VT/UB/BB). Bayles tied for fifth on beam with a 9.850, while Rojas tied for 10th on bars with a 9.750. Grenier performed an exhibition routine on bars. “I’m super proud of the seniors,” Wells said. “It’s been a really great experience for them to be our leaders this year. Bojan Bogdanovic added 18 points, Mike Conley had 15, Rudy Gobert finished with 14 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks, and Jordan Clarkson chipped in 13 points. Utah shot 40 of 74 (54%) from the field. The Jazz did not crack under pressure and executed on both ends in the final minutes. “When you narrow it down, we did what we were supposed to do,” Mitchell said.
