Aggies find first win in 17 days by defeating New Mexico 81-56 – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN, Utah — The Aggies snapped their four-game losing streak by routing New Mexico, 81 to 56. It was Utah State’s first win in 17 days. “First and foremost, it’s great to get a win for our guys,” head coach Ryan Odom said. “We had a tough stretch. Losing four in a row is really hard for our guys.” After missing nearly two months with a back injury, guard Brock Miller saw action tonight. He scored three points and grabbed a rebound in 12 minutes of play. Miller made a 3-pointer with 14:13 left in the game and the Spectrum erupted in celebration. “That was unbelievable,” Miller said. “I’m really humbled with just the opportunity that I’ve been given to play. When it’s taken away from you a little bit from bad health, you realize how great it is to be out there.” The Aggies had an incredible start to the game. After surrendering a basket, Utah State went on a 12-0 run in just over two minutes to take a 12-2 lead with 16:29 remaining in the first half. Ridgeline girls lone Region 11 basketball team to advance to state title game – Cache Valley Daily

Photo by E. George Goold, St. George News ST. GEORGE – A Region 11 school participated in each of the four games Tuesday at Dixie State University in the 4A basketball semifinals. However, only one advanced to a championship game. 4A GIRLS SEMIFINALS The girls semifinal games began with a Region 11 rematch between Ridgeline and Green Canyon. As in their previous two encounters, the Riverhawks prevailed, this time 53-41. With the win, the top-ranked Riverhawks advance to the 4A championship game Wednesday at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast on 104.5 The Ranch and streamed online here with Dave Simmons and “The Patriot” Nick Zollinger providing play-by-play. The second game of the day played out in a similar fashion, featuring Sky View and Desert Hills. The game was a rematch of a game played in mid-December in Smithfield. In that game, Desert Hills prevailed 47-43. On Tuesday, the Thunder won again, this time 55-43. The Bobcats made a run to make the game close with just a few minutes left, but ultimately Desert Hills pulled away to seal the game and a trip to the 4A girls championship. #1 Ridgeline and #2 Desert Hills will square off for
