Sky View continues dominance of Mountain Crest with 48-0 victory in Hyrum – Cache Valley Daily

HYRUM – Sky View continued its decade of dominance against Mountain Crest, having won nine straight against Mountain Crest. The Bobcats shut out the Mustangs 48-0 and have now outscored them 100-0 in three straight shut outs. Mountain Crest still holds the all time series lead 23-18. Sky View quarterback Garrett Zollinger was in a comfortable rhythm all game finishing 26-34 for 370 yards and three touchdowns. Zollinger also added 30 yards on the ground on 13 carries. The Bobcats’ offense couldn’t be stopped, scoring on their six possessions, not punting until there was only six minutes left in the game. Zollinger’s favorite target was Evan Hall who finished with 168 yards on nine catches and a touchdown. Cole Watterson added 90 yards on six catches with two scores. The rushing attack wasn’t particularly effective, but they still rushed 37 times for 126 yards. Truman Moser led the way with 51 yards on ten carries and Reed Wilde had 29 yards on seven carries with two scores and didn’t carry the ball in the second half. Aggies unable to contain Allgeier and the BYU Cougars, lose 34-20 in blackout game – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN—Utah State lost its second-straight game as No. 13/15 BYU’s Tyler Allgeier racked up 208 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries en route to a 34-20 win in front of a sellout crowd on Merlin Olsen Field. As a team, USU was only able to manage 22 rushing yards. Head coach Blake Anderson said the only advantage his team had against BYU was speed. BYU’s size difference in the trenches, he said, was “what won the game for them.” Anderson made a promise the size discrepancies will change in coming years. “They were a little bit bigger and stronger than us today, but that will not last,” he said. “We’ll recruit our tail off, we’ll develop our tail off. We will make this a battle every stinking year.” Aggie quarterback Logan Bonner completed 21 of 41 passes for two touchdowns and one interception, while BYU quarterback Baylor Romney was 15 of 19 for 187 yards and a touchdown, but neither quarterback finished the game. Romney was injured sometime before halftime and Bonner went out with a non-contact knee injury in the fourth.
