Utah’s Jordan Clarkson wins NBA’s 6th man of the year award – Cache Valley Daily

And his closest competition was from a teammate: Utah’s Joe Ingles was second, marking the first time the top two finishers for this award came from the same franchise. It’s the first time a Jazz player has won the award. Manny Martins named head soccer coach at Utah State – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State University Vice President and Director of Athletics John Hartwell announced Manny Martins as the head soccer coach at USU on Monday, becoming the fourth head coach in the program’s history. Martins is the first minority head coach in any sport in Utah State history.   “We are excited to announce the addition of Manny to lead Utah State soccer,” Hartwell said. “Manny is well respected in the soccer community and has a proven track record of being a strong recruiter and developing successful soccer student-athletes. The eighth-seeded Grizzlies put the Western Conference top-seeded Jazz in an early hole. Game 2 of the series in Wednesday night. Brooks set a single-game franchise scoring record for a Memphis player making their NBA playoff debut, surpassing the 24 points scored by Marc Gasol against San Antonio on April 17, 2011.
