(AP) — Mike Conley scored 13 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, Jordan Clarkson added 24 points and the Utah Jazz beat the Memphis Grizzlies 111-107 on Wednesday night for their seventh straight victory. Bojan Bogdanovic added 23 points for Utah, which defeated Memphis for the third time in a week, this time overcoming 36 points from Grizzlies guard Ja Morant. Kyle Anderson had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis, and Dillon Brooks finished with 17 points. Jonas Valanciunas added 16 points and 14 rebounds. Leading scorer Donovan Mitchell was not with the Jazz for personal reasons. Mitchell scored 26 points and the Jazz beat the Chicago Bulls 113-106 on Friday night for their 21st straight win at home, a franchise record. Rudy Gobert had 19 points and 13 rebounds as Utah (37-11) won its eighth in a row overall despite getting outscored 68-40 in the paint. Jordan Clarkson scored 19 off the bench. In all, Odom is 126-81 (.609) in seven years as a head coach and has 24 years of collegiate coaching experience. “We are beyond excited to announce Ryan Odom as Utah State’s new men’s basketball head coach,” said Hartwell. “We had great interest from many qualified candidates and Ryan quickly distinguished himself as the clear choice. The Suns scored the first five points in overtime and never trailed again. Booker had a couple of clutch mid-range jumpers to keep the Jazz behind and Paul made a 3-pointer with a minute left that pushed Phoenix ahead 114-108. Utah pulled to 114-112 on Mike Conley’s layup with 21 seconds left, but could never tie it. Mitchell tallied his 18th 30-point game this season, but it took him a while to heat up after a slow start. But his ability to penetrate the lane on almost every possession powered a 19-4 run in the fourth quarter. Mitchell has scored 41, 37 and 42 points in his last three games. Russell Westbrook had 25 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists for the Wizards. Daniel Gafford matched his season high with 15 points while Robin Lopez and Davis Bertans each chipped in 10 for Washington. Neemias Queta, left, and Autumn Deharde, right, were named the Male and Female Athlete of the Year, respectively, at the annual Robins Awards LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men’s basketball junior Neemias Queta and gymnastics senior Autumn DeHarde were named the Male and Female Athlete of the Year, respectively, at the annual Robins Awards, taking place via an online stream on Saturday, April 10.   Queta rewrote the defensive record books at Utah State, setting records in single-game, single-season and career blocks during his three years at Utah State. Queta finished the 2020-21 season as one of four finalists for the Naismith Defense Player of the Year, given annually to the top defender in NCAA Division I men’s basketball. Queta led the nation with 97 blocks in 2020-21 and was the only player in the Mountain West to finish the year averaging a double-double, turning in 14.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Futhermore, Queta is one of only two players in the NCAA since 1992-93 to finish the year averaging more than 14.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
